Alex McMorine
Pastor
Originally hailing from Ottawa and a career in computer programming, Alex brings both a love of the Bible and technological expertise to his role as Pastor of Digby Baptist Church! Alex graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Acadia Divinity College in May of 2024, and began his role at DBC in June of 2024. Alex is passionate about Biblical teaching, authentic worship, and living out Christ's love in the community. Despite the distance from Ottawa, Alex feels right at home in Digby.
Rev. Donald Robertston
Pastor Emeritus
Donald was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton. He received his BA from Acadia, before beginning studies at what is now Acadia Divinity College. Following graduation in 1956, he began, first alone and then with Cairine, what would become almost sixty continuous years of ministry before retiring in Digby in 2014. His pastorates included two at Grace Memorial in Fredericton, two at Middleton Baptist, and two at Digby Baptist. Through the years Donald has faithfully pursued ministry with a humble spirit and a shepherd’s heart. Donald and Carine are blessed to have a son, a daughter, four grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.
Cairine Robertson
Organist & Choir Director
Cairine was born and raised in Wolfville. She received a BA degree from Acadia in 1960, and a post-graduate Diploma in Speech Pathology and Audiology from University of Toronto in 1962. In 1964, following two years of full time work in that profession, Cairine married Donald, and moved to the beautiful village of Barss Corner, where he had been pastor for one year. Cairine is thankful for her early years of musical training, along with the ability to ‘play in the spirit.’ These gifts from the Lord have enabled her to contribute to music ministry in churches wherever He has placed her.
